The WOMAN Behind The Lens

I am, first and foremost, a wife and a mother of two imperfectly perfect children. My son is on the Autism Spectrum and non-verbal. He is my hero and I am his biggest fan. I enjoy running and running on COFFEE! I was voted best Photographer by "Kokomo's Best" contest two years in a row. When I am not behind the lens, you can find me spending time with my family and friends.

I first met Jessica 3 yrs ago at a birthday party. I had no idea then that she was 1) a photographer & 2) my future best friend. Through the grapevine I found out she was indeed a photographer and I decided to see if I could get something done. That was it, I was hooked. I quickly found out, she wasn't afraid to think outside the box and was ready to do whatever my daughter and I threw her way. From recreating Abby Road to dancing in the fountain to playing in the creek, she has always been up for the challenge.

From being in front of her camera, to assisting her behind the scenes for shoots, I have learned a lot about photography throughout my time working on and off camera with her. There is a lot of work that goes into it and somehow she makes it look like the easiest thing in the world. (I assure you, it is not). Not everyone has the eye or the gift of photography, but Jessica does. Completely self taught she continues to teach herself new tricks every day and it shows in her work. She's not one for clicking a single button to edit and her work being done, she takes time with each picture because each picture is special. To see how far she has come in 3 yrs time is a beautiful thing.

Jess, you are amazing and you have such a way of catching beautiful moments through your lens. Never be afraid to step out of the box... I love your guts and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for Jessica Shuck Photography!
